Tubas / Report by Nour Al-Fares for PNN / For the second consecutive day, Israeli forces continued their military operation and assault on residents in the Tubas district, in the northern Jordan Valley area of the occupied West Bank. Hundreds of Palestinians were subjected to raids on their homes, forced eviction, the conversion of their properties into interrogation centres, severe beatings, detention and arrest. In several cases, soldiers opened fire, wounding a number of residents.During the ongoing operation, Israeli forces blocked roads with earth mounds and levelled others, while bulldozing several streets and deliberately damaging infrastructure. Soldiers also restricted the movement of journalists and ambulances belonging to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.Paramedic Mohammed Sawafteh, an emergency officer with the Red Crescent, said they received calls to assist patients and others who had been assaulted after the Israeli attack began in the town of Tammun. He said they were initially denied entry, but later returned with additional ambulances. Coordination eventually allowed only one ambulance into Tammun, where patients were brought to a designated point before being transferred to the vehicle for evacuation to hospitals.Israeli forces sealed off all main and secondary entrances across Tubas district, effectively isolating towns and villages from one another after the army took control of every area, according to Tubas Governor Ahmed Al-As’ad, who spoke to the PNN correspondent in the area.Al-As’ad added that Israeli forces seized dozens of homes and buildings, turning them into military posts after expelling the residents, smashing their belongings and assaulting them. He condemned the operation, calling for urgent international intervention to halt Israeli practices that, he said, spared no one.Testimonies gathered by PNN’s correspondent revealed extensive violations carried out away from cameras, including violent home raids, destruction of household property, and the brutal beating of residents.Alaa Bani Odeh, who has a physical disability, said soldiers carried out “barbaric assaults” on residents inside their homes. He told PNN that around 50 soldiers stormed his house at around 5:30 a.m., attacking him and all family members “in a savage and inhumane manner.” He added that soldiers deliberately destroyed homes, leaving many unfit for habitation, and that his son was arrested and taken to an unknown location. He called for urgent clarification on the condition and whereabouts of detainees.Regarding the closure of roads, Aqaba Mayor Abdul-Razzaq Abu Ara said the events demonstrate that Israeli actions are rooted in policies aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians. He said Israeli forces were implementing plans consistent with the state’s long-standing objective of driving Palestinians out of their land.Abu Ara added that the assaults did not only target homes but extended to agricultural land, stressing that the army sought to destroy vital farmland and its content.
