Air Cairo expands charter network across Europe and West Africa

Egyptian carrier Air Cairo has strategically broadened its charter flight network for the 2026 Hajj season, launching new routes from Italy, Germany, and Niger to the Holy Sites in Saudi Arabia as part of an aggressive push to capture a larger share of the global religious tourism market. The airline has already commenced operations out of Milan, scheduling 11 flights deployed via its modern Airbus A320neo fleet to transport approximately 1,500 pilgrims, backed by operational support from national carrier EgyptAir. This expansion aligns with Air Cairo’s broader strategy to diversify its revenue streams beyond traditional leisure tourism markets. By tapping into the surging demand for organized Hajj travel from Europe and West Africa, the airline is positioning itself to capitalize on the highly lucrative and high-yield religious transport sector.
