High-scoring action in primary school football competition
St Paul hit six unanswered goals past George Lamming Primary in the Reginald Haynes/Victor Gas Clarke Zone at Blenheim as the National Sports Council Primary School Football Competition continued.
In other results from the zone, Luther Thorne Memorial and St Giles played to a 1-1 draw, while Wilkie Cumberbatch Primary blanked Charles F. Broome Memorial 3-0. St Ambrose Primary also recorded a similar 3-0 victory over St Patrick’s Roman Catholic School.
Following a series of lopsided results, defending champions West Terrace Primary were held to a 1-1 draw by St Stephen’s Primary at Orange Hill, while St Albans blanked Good Shepherd 2-0.
In the Keith Grell Griffith Zone, Eden lodge Primary were defeated 1-0 by
Deacons, Westbury School eased past Al Falah 4-2 and Wills beat Shirley Chisholm Primary by a 2-0 margin. Grazettes Primary edged out
St Mary’s Primary 3-2, with Trinity Academy defeating Lawrence T Gay Memorial 2-1.
Hilda Skeene’s winning run came to an end in the Adrian Donvan, Michael Foster Zone, after they were beaten 3-0 by St Philip Primary. Blackman & Gollop Primary defeated St Catherine’s Primary by a similar margin, while
Gordon Walters cruised to a 5-0 win over St Martin’s Mangrove.
In the day’s remaining game in the Ricardo Mickey Gibson Zone at Blenheim, St Winifred’s dismissed St Christopher Primary 6-1.
