Police launch confidential hotline as communities urged to expose armed criminals
Southern Highlands authorities have launched a bold community-driven campaign against illegal firearms, calling on residents to help identify armed criminals and remove weapons from villages as part of a renewed push to restore law and order in one of Papua New Guinea's most volatile provinces.
In a direct appeal to the public, Upper Highlands Special Operations Commander Anthony Wagambie Jr. unveiled a confidential reporting initiative and urged citizens to call the dedicated toll-free hotline 71388399 (Kumul 23) to report illegal firearm owners, stolen vehicles and other criminal activities.
