Finland starts work on EU Return Regulation
Finland has begun work on changes to national migration laws ahead of the European Union's new Return Regulation, which aims to increase the return of people staying in the bloc without legal permission. The Ministry of the Interior has launched a legislative project that will prepare the country's legal framework before the first parts of the regulation take effect later this year.
The Ministry of the Interior announced on Wednesday that the project will draft amendments needed to implement the new EU regulation while making use of the areas where member states have discretion over national rules.
