US strikes Iran again, Tehran hits back
The United States and Iran exchanged strikes across the Gulf on Monday as their dispute over the Strait of Hormuz threatened a June agreement intended to curb the war. US forces attacked sites across Iran, while Tehran reported strikes against American-linked military facilities in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
The attacks marked one of the broadest exchanges since Washington and Tehran signed the Islamabad memorandum on 17 June. Both governments accused the other of breaching the arrangement, which addressed an end to hostilities and access to the waterway.
