Three to appear in court in connection with fatal assault of Limerick father
THREE males are due to appear in court in Limerick later this morning charged in connection with an alleged fatal assault of a father of three in Limerick City last March.
Liam ‘Gingee’ Higgins (55) died in hospital eight days after he sustained serious head injuries in an alleged assault at Athlunkard Street on March 17 last.
A number of people are already before the courts charged in connection with the alleged assault on Mr Higgins, in which it was alleged his head was stamped on and he was beaten with traffic cones.
Mr Higgins, of Mungret, County Limerick, and late of Ryan’s Cottages and O’Malley Park, was pre-deceased by his son Jamie and father Jim.
He is survived by his mother Anne, wife Sharon, sons Calvin and Scott, and daughter Leanne.
