Learner drivers on Limerick roads on the rise
THE NUMBER of learner drivers on Limerick roads in the last year has increased.
That’s according to figures released from the Irish Road Safety Authority (RSA) to the Irish Road Haulage Association under a Freedom of Information request.
The data shows that the number of learner drivers on Limerick roads increased by 346 from 14,966 in March 2025 to 15,312 in March 2026.
This reflects an increase at a national level in the same period, according to RSA data, with 381,871 learner drivers registered across Ireland in March 2025 raising to 388,090 in March 2026.
It is a marked increase from the 249,657 noted for 2016.
