New builds in Latvia still come without bomb-shelter basements
As the war in Ukraine continues, the question of where people can take shelter in a sudden crisis such as a military attack has become a key one. In Latvia, many newly built apartment buildings often have no basements at all, even if the building has only been put into operation very recently. Why are builders ignoring safe basements, and how expensive would it be to install shelters in new buildings?
